After a state-wide search, an Alamogordo High School student has been selected to represent New Mexico as part of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Youth Advisory Board.

Bowen Perry, 16, was named to the position during the New Mexico D.A.R.E. Officers Association In-Service Conference that was held over the summer in Red River, NM. Perry is a Junior at Alamogordo High School.

The Association is headed by retired Sgt. Ronnie Granados of the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department.

Perry will represent the state in speaking engagements that focus on drug and alcohol issues impacting New Mexico and the nation. He will also serve as an advisor to government and community leaders, as well as D.A.R.E. America and local D.A.R.E. programs on drug and violence prevention strategies that would benefit our youth.
