On Monday, October 9, 2018, Acting Superintendent, Jerrett Perry, was pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Moore as the new principal at Alamogordo High School, effective immediately.

Before becoming Principal at Alamogordo High School, Image of Tiger LogoDr. Moore was as a middle school teacher for Seminole County Public Schools in Sanford, Florida. Prior to becoming a teacher, Dr. Moore retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. He brings to APS, his military leadership experience, as well as classroom management skills and dedication to the profession of education with Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Military Operational Art & Science and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

The Search Committee sought a leader who had a history of bringing communities together, was a strong communicator, a strategic thinker and had a keen understanding and appreciation of the principles and values upon which APS was founded. This will undoubtedly provide an enhanced educational experience for our students.

Acting Superintendent Perry would like to thank the Search Committee who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in this process.

Alamogordo Public Schools has stayed true to our mission and vision. We are now thankful and excited to have found an exceptional leader in Dr. Kenneth Moore to take Alamogordo High School to the next level.
