Alamogordo Schools Own Desert Star Elementary Named Distinguished School. Desert Star Becomes Title I Distinguished School ALAMOGORDO, NM, February 6, 2020 —  Alamogordo Public Schools and the New Mexico Public Education Department are proud to announce wonderful news. This morning February 6, 2020 Desert Star Elementary of Alamogordo Public Schools was named a Title I Distinguished School, a national recognition.
