Alamogordo Public Schools would like to welcome Mr. Andrew Coleman as the new Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2019-20 school year.

Andrew comes to APS from Bossier Parish Schools in Bossier Parish, Louisiana. Andrew has served as an Assistant Principal and Principal since 2015. During his time at Kingston Elementary, the school was rated as an “A” campus through his leadership.  He was later transferred to the lowest performing school in Bossier Parish because of his success as a “turnaround” principal.

Prior to 2015, Mr. Coleman worked in Caddo Parish Public Schools in the roles of Classroom Teacher, Pre-K-8th Grade Instructional Coordinator and Assistant Principal.

Andrew earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Social Sciences, as well as his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He will complete his Ed.D. from Texas Tech in Texarkana in August of 2019.

Andrew’s goal for Curriculum and Instruction is to collaborate with the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning to meet the needs of APS teachers, students and administration and support the vision set by Superintendent Perry. His vision for APS is for every child to leave every campus with academic success and to do our very best for every child, every day to get the job done.

Andrew is married to his wife India and has four children, a daughter who just graduated from high school, a son who is a Junior in high school, a son in the 8th grade and his youngest son is in 5th grade. The Coleman’s are excited about moving to Alamogordo and becoming a part of the community.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Andrew Coleman to the Alamogordo Public School District.
